End of Term Events 09

It was a real pleasure to welcome back last year’s Year 13 to college for a presentation evening where they received their certificates, had a chance to meet each other and catch up on what they had been up to since leaving college and for our guest speaker to share a few wise words. This year Penny Charnock, Director of Specialism from the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust was kind enough to give the presentation. Whilst Penny is now a very senior member of the education establishment, looking after the national network of schools like ourselves who hold specialist status, you can tell that at heart she is still very much a teacher, and her words about the special teacher in your life who sometimes can change your whole life were very touching, and her advice about the 21st Century labour market and the skills you need to be a success really useful.
For two nights we had our production of “Bugsy” in the school hall. I was so impressed both the talent and the hard work that came across so clearly from the stage and from the band. I’m still humming the final number even now. Special thanks to all the staff who helped to make it happen.
