Xcellence in Student Voice

It was a huge pleasure to visit 7L in the last session of their Xtraordinary Singing project. The class have been looking at ways to build confidence in singing in public and at the same time creating some really great backing tracks that they can use with Lips on the X Box game. I’ve been following Ms Dorrian’s project for a while now and linked to it a couple of times. As well as making very innovative use of ICT in the classroom, I think the way the group and their parents have tracked the project and left comments and suggestions shows a really simple and practical approach to making technology work well.

On another note (sorry, no pun intended) our Student Voice team have had a certificate for their entry for the Speaker’ s School Council Awards from John Bercow MP. The same team of students are at the Emirates Stadium next week presenting to hundreds of other schools at the Achievement Show about how Lodge Park’s student council have found ways to make technology work for them in reaching as many people as possible to involve them in their work.
So two stories and what they have in common – practical, useful ways to make new technology work for us, students going the extra mile and making us proud, and of course Lodge Park Technology College!
