Lodge Park Student Council at the Achievement Show

The Achievement Show which takes place in London at the Emirates Stadium every year is one of the largest and most prestigious events in the education calendar. Thousands of people gather to hear the ideas and experiences of other schools.

We were really honoured this year (for the second time running - Mrs Watson was invited last year) to present at the show. This time it was in recognition of the ground-breaking work our student council are doing to use new technologies to reach out to as many people as possible and involve them in their work.

Out of the large group of people involved four stepped up to take to the stage and presented video clips, talked about their work, showed how some of the technologies work and then answered a lot of questions.
How did they do? Well they went down well with the audience and had a lot of people asking questions, they were stopped at the service station on the way home by someone who had seen them and was really impressed, and I've already had two schools phone up to ask about visiting our school to talk to the student council and bring some of their own students.
Everyone involved, not just the four who did the big show, but the whole team behind them are a massive credit to themselves and their college, and I'd like to thank them, Mrs Ballard and Mrs Franklin who supported them on their way.
